Brief Description
The Network License Manager (NLM) controls the number of concurrent
copies of an application (total 64 users plus three software options)
that are licensed to be in use in a local area network. The NLM
is a small program, runs as a service and can be installed on a
server or a local department workstation.
The administrator installs the NLM as a service with a user command
that also makes the required registry entries. The administrator
then enters a password from the software manufacturer to secure
the NLM and chooses the networks protocol and any event logging.
The NLM is then all setup ready for software use. There is a separate
program to monitor the number of concurrent users and options checked
out.
