Using GTWorks

GTWorks incorporates a common user interface designed to accommodate the needs of both casual and experienced users. The software streamlines a range of daily activities and provides the tools necessary to personalize the system to meet individual requirements.

ON-SCREEN MENUS

GTWorks menus can be mastered easily, even by a casual user. Selection of a menu item with mouse or keyboard activates that function instantly. Inexperienced users are guided through the system by a series of prompts and messages. Advanced users can access functions directly and personalize the appearance and location of menus.

FUNCTION KEYS

You can access commonly used functions directly, including geometry construction, curve trimming, viewing controls, color and line font control and work coordinate selection. Also, you can access menus and operations directly from anywhere within the system without having to step through intermediate menus.

KEYSTROKE LOGS

Keystroke logs enable you to enter a series of commands with a single keystroke. These logs can be used to construct geometry, generate drafting dimensions, create numerical control data, build finite element models or to automate any other operation available on the system. In combination with stored variables, keystroke logs can produce parameterized families of parts 10 to 100 times faster than traditional interactive methods.

USER-DEFINED ICON BUTTONS

GTWorks provides user-defined icon buttons that can be configured to access commonly used functions, keystroke logs, or custom-built Eagle macros or AI programs. Icon buttons can be displayed in graphic or text format and can be activated by selection with mouse or tablet.

USER-DEFINED VARIABLES

Angles, distances, point coordinates, radii and other geometric or mathematical information can be captured instantaneously from geometry displayed on the screen. These numerical values can be stored as user-defined variables and accessed whenever required.
